Reading assignment #6

@JoeMcCarthy- Babe Ruth is a good player but not one person can make a team.

@BabeRuth- Joe I'm the best player to ever play this game, I don't care if you're my manager, show me some respect @JoeMcCarthy.

@JoeMcCarthy- You better shut your mouth before I bench your ass for the rest of the season @BabeRuth.

@Yawkey- There's no way you are going to do that unless you want your season to be over @JoeMcCathy.

@BabeRuth- That's exactly what happened when frazee decided to get rid of me @JoeMcCarthy @Yawkey.

@JoeMcCarthy- Unlike frazee we are not all that stupid but honestly kid you need to shut up @BabeRuth.

@JoeMcCarthy- @Yawkey why are you even in this? Nobody mention your ass.

@BabeRuth- Don't tell me to shut up, you're worth nothing so you shut up @JoeMcCarthy.

@Yawkey- Because I've the right to say something when someone is being stupid @JoeMcCarthy.

@BabeRuth- I've played 56 games this season and have a ERA of 2.36 and have hit 15 homeruns. There's no way you are benching me @JoeMcCarthy.

@JoeMcCarthy- @Yawkey all I have to say is how's Boston doing? Do you think y'all have a chance this year?

@JoeMcCarthy- Okay you work for me never forget that. I don't care who you are I could end your career in a heart beat @BabeRuth.

@Yawkey- Actually @JoeMcCarthy We are doing great, better than ever actually so worrie about your own shit.

@BabeRuth- I actually wanted to play with you the most but sucks I got traded @Yawkey.

@Yawkey- That would have been great, championships would have came our way @BabeRuth.

@JoeMcCarthy- I was in your position, face of a franchise. I'm telling you kid to not let it get to your head @BabeRuth

@BabeRuth- this is a true example of #Frenemies. People may think that we're friends but we all know I hate you @JoeMcCarthy.

@Frazee- I had to get rid of you, that was the only way to make sure it was a team effort @JoeMcCarthy.

@Frazee- I also agree with Joe not one player can make a team @baberuth.

@BabeRuth- #LeasonLearned.

@JoeMcCarthy- That's all I've been trying to say, finally you get it @baberuth.

@BabeRuth- I guess I got a little carried away so I apologize @JoeMcCarthy.

@JoeMcCarthy- it wasn't all entirely your fault I started this whole thing I'm sorry @BabeRuth.

@Frazee- now that's what I like to see and what we all wanted to see after all of this @BabeRuth @JoeMcCarthy.

Dialog

1. We followed them to the gym and through the halls and upstairs. We listened to them for at least 5 to 10 mins until tartan blew our cover. It was between two girls. It felt creepy when they realized we were following them around.

2. These two girls were talking quietly, one of them had like a sadness to her voice. People say whatever that is on their mind to somebody they know.

3. There was one girl kinda controlling the conversation, the friend was basically there for morall support.

4. These girls really didn't have much emotion besides the friend that broke up with her boyfriend, she was sad.

5. The conversation will no longer be one sides if there was more than two people talking.

6. They didn't surprise us with the way they were talking, it was nothing new.

7. The difference is you cannot tell what kind of tone they were using in a written conversation. In a face to face conversation people use more expressions with their bodies and voice. The similarity in the conversations usually one person controls the direction of the convo.

Imagery

Imagery Paragraph Question

1. I selected this imagery because it had everything in it for me. It was a visual of how the Boston Red Sox or Pilgrims back then were killing everyone in baseball. I can totally see that happening. Even to this day they are still dominant over the baseball world.

2. The most common imagery in this paragraph is definitely visual.

3. The best snippet was when Boston changed their name from the pilgrims to the Red Sox and created Fenway park. That city loves their baseball and it was great for everyone.

4. This imagery is positive towards Boston fans and the players. Winning pennants and championships definitely had the Boston locals and fans around the world cheering. For the players to know they had such good fan base it had them confident and winning games. That is a great feeling.

5. The author is creating a happy and proud mood. I know this because everyone including the fans and players seem very happy that they were number one, that's all they wanted.

6. The purpose was to simply inspire generations to come.

My Favourite movie all time

The Dark Knight
The greatest superhero movie of all time. This should've won Best Picture at the Oscars. What other superhero film can you actually say that about? What Christopher Nolan did with Batman and The Joker is simply the stuff of legend. You can't just look at it as a comic book movie, you can't just look at it as an action flick, you can't just look at it as a crime drama... it's a mindblowing masterpiece of cinema. Nolan took a franchise that had become known for "Chill out, bird boy!" and somehow managed to craft a dark epic that would become the second highest grossing film of all time. To make that sort of herculean effort with minimal CGI in today's environment... the man is simply a visionary genius.

And Heath Ledger... what is there left to say about Heath Ledger? He didn't win the Oscar because he died. It wasn't a sympathy vote. He deserved it, by portraying The Joker in a way wholly unlike anything we'd ever seen before. Fuck Cesar Romero, fuck Jack Nicholson, and fuck Mark Hamill. Ledger will always be The Joker now. So many quotable lines, and even a second villain that felt natural and meshed with the plot. Who could forget that brilliant hospital scene with our first glimpse at Two Face? The way Nolan teased at it, turning his head away at just the right moment to heighten the suspense. And then the actual reveal, and hearing the gasps in the audience. Just great iconic moments.

Another iconic scene: the interrogation room. What a wonderful way to subvert the traditional interrogation. Start it in darkness, but then shift into bright light, contrasting the white room with the blackness of Batman. Also reflecting the two warring sides of Two Faces. The Batman pummels the Joker, yet somehow still ends up being helpless while the Joker is holding all the cards. This isn't the sort of stuff you expect from a superhero action film. That's why it's so wonderful. Just as the Joker turned Gotham upside down, this film has completely turned its genre upside down. My favorite scene is the ending monologue from Commissioner Gordon: "Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Dark Knight." BAM. The title card finally comes onscreen. If that didn't affect you in some manner after witnessing the last 2 and a half hours, you're just not human.

Quick Write Meeting the Grim Reaper on the road

I would ask him for forgiveness first of all. Ask him if it's my time because it's one in a billion chance that I meet the grim reaper on the road and not think he was here for me. If it was me he was after than I would wonder why he came to me I'm the first place, maybe it was a sign to get my life in check cause I won't be in this world for long. Maybe his next target was one of my love ones and it was to help him in killing them, that would be the most trigic thing ever. I am the one he's after "says the reaper" okay if it is my time it is my time, there's nothing I can do about it now, I'm going to miss all of this.

Never ending memories

This season was the best football season this school could have ever asked for. It's sad that it had to end a week early in the semi finals but still A phenomenal season. I would trade everything I have to have a shot at that semi final again and I would do it all in a heart beat.

Always approach the game with a mindset of winning, cause if you think your going to you, you have already lost.

#iwish I've played with the Yankees for a long period of time. I would have had more championships and title as one of the best to ever play the game of baseball.

I feel sorry about the cruse I brought on Boston by leaving their great organization.

My first year with the Yankees is one to never forget. The hype was unbelievable and of course I lived up to it.

You were the worst manager I've ever had and you know who you are #sorrynotsorry

#oops shouldn't have gone to the braves, that was my last pro team and it wasn't memorable for me or the fans.

When Yawkey #fail to intervene in the war between William and the press. I could have handle that better.

When I left boston they were god-awful and didn't even win a pennant in almost 10 years. That's garbage.

#Lessonlearned Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.

Going to st. Mary's industrial school for boys from the age of 7 to 19 was the beginning of my baseball life #tbt

There's no doubt that me and McCarthy weren't the best of friends but when It came down to business we always got the job done together #Frenemies

I still have great memories of the first few years at Yankee stadium. There was nothing I regret or would take back.

When I left the Yankees every time I when back there playing with the braves I always get a great welcome. That I loved.

When I die I want to leave a legacy like no other. I want to be able to look back on life and say to myself "you did good babe, you did good"

Babe Ruth died in August 1948. There were over thousands of people at his funeral at the Yankee stadium.

these ducks desperately need a happy ending

This story desperately needs a happy ending. My chicks fell down the well but it was basically like a water slide back to their home, where their mother was waiting patiently for them and happy to see them.

Quick write Robot

My robot is definitely going to be the one I can count on at home, with my family when I'm away. He will also be my way of transportation. It will talk like a human cause when he's around the kids I want it to be as life like as possible. It will be good at sports, teach kids sport and pass the ball around with me for fun.

Six Word Memoirs De-brief

I learn that storytelling have a power over ones mind. I love being entertained, a good story entertains but a great story knows that it has in its arsenal the ability to do so much more. The best stories makes me feel something, it mess with my emotions and get me all ball up into that story. That a good story is a good story for a reason, it's suppose to cheer you up and make you happy and smiling.

I showed my knowledge of storytelling when I was working on my authors note for the six words mems. Talking about the background of the photo and the words was great. I when really deep in to it and once I started it was hard to stop because I had all these things to say. When I did my reading survey, that's when the storytelling was great for me cause I could just go on about the topics.

I learned that as a reader you need patience which I don't have, and you need to be able to love the book you are reading. As a writer I had to go beyond the point to make sense in all that I was doing. As a thinker it was different, I felt that my mind was in a different place and a place that I wanted it to be in. As a storyteller I learned that there's always two sides  to one story and you just have to go with the one that feels right.

Fall Is Here

I truly do not like this time of the seasons. This mean the end of a great summer, and the beginning of a depressing winter.

The Summer Of 2012 Was Terrifying.

Going To Have Mixed African Kids

Reading Survey

My life in reading has been a huge improvement. I remember reading In The Heat Of The Night and that was truly inspiring to me. I have to say Stephen King Is My Favorite Author of all times.

Growing up in Africa I never got the chances to read books or to understand it. Speaking English was also hard for me, being that I would normally speak the language that my father was speaking. In elementary school I failed my English class due to me not being able to read and I was held back a year in Africa. When I came to canada, it was much harder, I had to go to school where everyone could read, write well and speak English, which I put pressure on myself to learn everything as fast as I can and not get laughed at. In my second year of being in Canada I was able to understand English and read and write better than I ever did. In high school my reading, writing, and speaking and understanding English was on a total different level, by then I couldn't even speak my other language but I still understand it.

The best book I ever read was In The Heat Of The Night. John Ball created the best suspense and inspirational book ever in my opinion. Virgil Tibbs was truly the best black detective within a novel. The town of wells were scared of the African Americans folks. I feel that way because they knew that ones the civil war ever ended they would be in serious trouble. That night when Sam Woods found the body of the young girl in the middle of the highway, they assumed it was Virgil Tibbs because of his skin color and that he was just waiting there for his train. It was truly awful to see and that they were being racist was worst too. After all of that Mr. Tibbs eventually helped them with the crime and their opinion on the African American was changed.

Stephen King has truly inspired me as a creative minded person. He has created these thrillers and action packed novels and it just cativate his fans including me. Stephenie Meyer is also a Favorite author of mine. Simply because of the twilight saga, the best book into a movie ever written.

In conclusion I've come a long way from not being able to read, write, or speak English well to loving all of that and more. In The Heat Of The Night will always be my Favorite novel I've ever read up to this point. Stephen King and Stephenie Meyer made my high school life easier just because they keep me dreaming and believe and that's the best feeling I can ask for.
